Dog Gone Fun Blog Hop (Day One)

September 15, 2011

A warm and fuzzy welcome to you puppers hoppers. Today we are celebrating "Man's Best Friend."

Our top dog is Haidee from created2Bunique. If you stumbled upon the hop, please go to Haidee's to start at the beginning. If you are here from LadyLuvBug, your sniffer is on the right scent!

Personally, I do not have a pet dog. I never have. I like to take joy in my fiends' dogs or those that I meet along my path. I agree that dogs are so fun and amazing. In my dream of dreams, I would live on a hobby farm and then I would have a few dogs (for reasons of which I will not bore you).

For day one of the hop, I have created a chipboard album. Dog with . . . Ah, bear with me as this is my very first chipboard album. As well, I am not a scrapbooker. So this is a fairly new endeavor for me all around. However, I do agree that you can teach an old dog a new trick!

For my chipboard album, I used a cut file titled "Dog Mini Album" that was created by Cheryl at Creative Kuts. I cut the base out of cereal boxes by hand as I am not ready to cut that thickness with my machine. Chipboard album pages are small. Thus the pictures will have to be even smaller. I incorporated some dog friendly papers and a few embellishments for the photo mats. If you know me, I love using fiber on my creations. I did wrap some around one of the photo mats. I finished off the album with fibers on the binding, as well as a couple of dog tags and a little bone button. It was fun decorating the pages themselves. However, cutting and covering the chipboard was too putsy for me (and I am a perfectionist, so it was also frustrating). (The colors in the photo are off. It really is not as feminine as it appears.)

You have seen some cute doggies and wonderful projects. If it fits with your family and lifestyle, and you have a little love in your heart, do consider adopting a dog that does not have a home.

Now stay on the trail and follow your nose to Ashley's at The Scrappin' Pink Piglet. Enjoy the day and give your dog(s) a hug! And remember, DOGS LEAVE PAW PRINTS ON YOUR HEART.

I do have a bonus doggy post located here.

Be sure to come to my blog Tomorrow. I will have a new project and blog candy!!
