Stick 'Em Up
Some paper crafting friends and I challenged ourselves to creating another non-paper item--but one that is used with paper crafting. This challenge was to make Hat or Stick Pins. People use these in embellishing scrap book pages and hand made cards. It was fun and I will make more. I appreciated that I could add and subtract and rearrange the items on the pin with ease. This activity gets your creative juices flowing and your imagination can take you to endless possibilities!!

I used "official" hat pins that are 7 inches in length and came with the clutch. FYI, I found them at JoAnns in the jewelry/bead section. They came 3 pins to apackage for under $3!! I found that Michaels only had 2.5 inch pins. Both stores have the small pin with a loop on the end. You can also used corsage

Tips and Tricks
1. Many stores have the small pin with a loop on the end. You can also use corsage pins found in the wedding section of the craft store. Also try a fabric store for the pins with a colored ball or other "figure" on the end. Those are short as well, but still fun to use in embellishing.
2. Some of the gals suggested using "Bead Fix" to hold the pins in to place so that they do not slide down. I have to take a look for it for my next round.
3. I bought jewelry from the thrift store, broke it apart and made my own creation. Buying a few finished jewelry gave me all the pieces I needed (beads, metal spacers, findings, etc). This also allow me to give the pins a try before making a monetary investment.
