Sweet BABY Word Album

May 5, 2016

I am so excited to share!! My current project for The Cutting Cafe turned out so well! I am really pleased. I might enter this in the Minnesota State Fair!

On to it . . .
Our assignment this week is a word album. This link will take you to projects created by the other Design Team members. The Cutting Cafe has many word albums at this link to choose from. (Don't let the first image at the link distract you. It is a Christmas Tree. Scroll down the page for word albums.)

I chose to use the BABY word album. So adorable!!

This is only my second word album ever. I cut my first word album by hand (back in 2011). Today's album was cut with my Pazzles Inspiration Vue. This is was my first time to cut chipboard on my Pazzles. It was so easy and slick!! I may have to make more! My "chipboard" came from packaging for crafts. It was only 1 mm thick. (I think most chipboard is 2 mm.) Still it took 2 and 3 passes to cut. Here is a great video tutorial for cutting chipboard on the Pazzles.

Here are pics of the cut process:
Look closely in front of the blue housing blade . . . you can make out the letter A. Try squinting or click on the picture for a larger view.

The pattern comes with the letters B A B Y. I added a back cover (that is not shown here).

Use the same pattern, of course, to cut the cardstock/paper that will cover each page. To cut the "back side" of each letter, I cut the reverse side of the patterned cardstock. My mat was not brand new, so I new the card stock would not stick. However, if your mat is fairly new, simply mirror your image in your cutting software and cut that on the "good side" of the cardstock/paper.

I used a glue stick to adhere my cardstock/paper to the chipboard. It takes a steady hand. I inked all the edges. This helped to hide any imperfections in alignment between the chipboard and cardstock.

Now the really fun part!! Embellishing. First I printed some digi stamps. The ones on the left were created by me. The stamps on the right were created by Regina at The Cutting Cafe. I added color to Regina's digi stamps.
