Do remember to celebrate your mom this May 10th (in America). In my household, I await to see what that means . . . . I saw a joke online that said:
"FYI . . . Dads your kids will NOT be bringing home handmade cards and gifts from school this year. You have 14 days."
Obviously, that was shared 14 days before this coming Mom's Day. Some (of us) moms, know that such a warning is not joke. Often such upfront "hints" are still not enough. Those of you who may be alone or "feel" alone this Mother's Day, I lift a prayer that some happiness will find it's way in to your day. You are important.
I've been playing with some new metal dies. It's fun to get creative with pretty elements. Here are a few cards I made. If you'd like to purchase one, let me know, or link to the shop where you'll find a few other choices. You might find a different card or yummy goodie gift in the miscellaneous section of the shop as well.
For the first three cards, I created the sentiment myself in Adobe Illustrator.
In designing this first card, I used a no name metal die of a bicycle. This is an easel card.
Here I used the same die cut as above, but only the back half of the bicycle. I "re-positioned" the basket. What do you think?
This card uses a metal die from the company Momenta. The original cut has the word "love" in the center, but I cut that out. I made a second cut in pink and used only the large flower to add more dimension.
Here is a classic card. I love this one!! This card showcases an image of a once printed cover to The Saturday Evening Post. The image is on a "trading card" (like a base ball card). The sentiment comes from Hunkydory pre-cut sentiments. I think it compliments the rest of the card nicely.
This last card does not have a Mother's Day sentiment, but that can be added to the inside. As I write I do not recall the manufacturer of the die cut. I think it is a no name brand. Let me know if you want to know. It is just the circular portion. I paired it with square, pierced die. I hand colored the flowers and bird with colored pencils. This card is a shaker card. I'll end my post with a video of this card. Happy Mother's Day.
