Explosion Boxes are so fun and can be so beautiful. I made this one as a Prayer Box for a baby shower. The inside of each flap is made without patterned paper so that guests may write a prayer for the new baby and family.
I went with a 5 layered box of hexagonal shape. I designed the box pattern myself using Pazzles' software. The outer layer is purple in a dark pastel of cardstock. I chose a number of baby themed papers for the outside of each flap on all 5 of the layers.

Now is when you can start to get creative! Each flap can be decorated. I chose to stick with scrapbook paper only and save the goodies for the outside of the box.

On top of the box lid, I added 3 little blocks. I also created this pattern myself. It is a simple cube.

The sky is the limit for your embellishing. It is so rewarding to take time to add these little touches of love.

When the box is opened, two of the sweetest baby shoes are revealed. I used a pattern from Tara's Craft Studio.
