Welcome, Welcome Home

May 23, 2014

I am very big on community. We have new neighbors. I used my Pazzles machine and files to make them a card welcoming them to the neighborhood. I thought it would be fun to make a “step-card” for this occasion.

These are the measurements I used for the step card. I started with a 6" x 12" piece of cardstock. Next I scored the cardstock at 1 1/4", 2 1/2", 4 1/4", 6" and 9". I cut a 6” square panel for the very back “step.”

The Pazzles Craft Room Library has many nice files that speak perfectly for this theme. I appreciate that there is a wide variety of designs and cuts. The Library makes it a breeze to whip out a project. I started with the Village House, but then tweaked it to fit my new neighbor's house.

Again, wanting this project to go quickly, I grabbed the “ready to use” title I found in the Pazzles’ Craft Room titled “Home Is Wherever You Are.” I am very visual, so at first I cut only the background of the title. Then I placed my title backing and house in place with paper clips.

I decided on the final size of all the pieces to fit my card base. I do not know anything about the new family. I have seen them with a baby carrier. So I personalized the card a bit by adding a Baby Buggy.
