A Paper Panoramic Easter Egg!

March 19, 2016

Dare I say "A Dream Come True?" For the next few months I will be creating alongside my favorite artist, Regina Easter. She is the owner and designer of The Cutting Cafe. I love her work!

For my inaugural post we are celebrating Easter using Shaped Treat Cup Cards! There are two styles of bunnies and an egg with which to let your imagination play. Please be sure to visit The Cutting Cafe blog post and see the fun created by the other design team members. Fabulous ideas!!

I chose to work with the Egg Treat Cup Card. I decided to use this pattern to mimic a panoramic sugar egg (also known as sugar Easter eggs, diorama eggs). The kind where you peek through a hole on one end of the egg and view a scene.

First I increased the size of the egg. (Be sure you select all pieces of the file before changing the size and maybe keep a copy of the original.) Being that my version is no longer a treat cup (and I don't want any little fingers messing with my scene) I eliminated the slider pieces. I also eliminated the fold and left this as card that does not open. Assembling the treat cup itself is a breeze with Regina's thoughtful design. I enjoyed deciding what to put in and on my egg. A little tricky getting everything lined up inside as well as working with little pieces! But it was fun!

So Sweet

So Sweet

See the tiny eggs?!

A small world.
