Simply Sunday Challenge: All A Flutter!

March 27, 2011

This is a challenge for K Andrew's Simply Sunday Challenge at Getting Cricky The challenge: "All A Flutter!" is to create a project with a butterfly or winged thing theme. Kristal is letting us use any supplies we desire.

My mind continues to dwell on thoughts of spring. I made two similar cards for this challenge. I knew the idea right away. I had all the pieces "in stock" in my craft room. Colors. For me, it is always a challenge to find the right colors. I do not trust the color wheel. I more often rely on themed paper stacks. Tip: Keep the papers all together and you're bound for success. I really would appreciate your opinions on these cards. How could they be improved? I will be listing these spring cards in my online shop (give me a day or two).

The first, with a dragonfly, is for the challenge. I love the colors. Thanks color wheel! I hand punched the flowers--notice that these flowers are the ones we all started out with. Hand punched and layered. I added a gem to each and raised most of them with foam. (Today the flowers are so beautiful and realistic. Some of you gals have a touch of mother nature in you!!) I hand stamped the sentiment. Every thing on this card was "made" by me--except the flying friend.

The other card I actually made first. We have to experiment, right?! Obviously I did not make the metal butterfly. Isn't it beautiful though? I cut the sentiment from a piece of scrap paper and the paper flowers were factory made.
