Are you having a sizzling summer? Then it’s time to cool off at the beach. We are celebrating summer at Pazzles with a beach week. Join us there for summer inspired craftiness! Grab your sand bucket, shovel and let’s go!
Today I want to show you an idea for a party favor or gift box. I started with the Pazzles’ Craft Room file Sandy Bucket. There is sand, a bucket and a shovel. You will see that I altered the original pattern just a tad.
I enlarged that pattern so that I would have a finished creation large enough to hold a gift as well as the candy tube that I used to make the shovel. This also meant that I needed to increase the size of (take out) Box 5-A from the software library. Because the box is so large, I had to cut it by making it two pieces. The finished box stands 10 inches high. (I also cut the box without its top.) Sorry the these photos are so small.
Here are the bucket pieces cut and then assembled:
I wanted a separate shovel that was more or less 3 dimensional. You can see that I pulled the shovel from the original Sandy Bucket file and altered it to wrap around a plastic candy tube.
The "scene" is fun to create. I chalked the sand and I used a white gel pen to stitch the bucket edge. This helps the bucket to pop a bit. I also raised part of the handle on foam dots.
Here is the finished gift bag/centerpiece. In the first photo, you can see the bucket peaking from behind.
I think that this could also be a fun center piece for a summer party! Add a banner and some other beach theme cuts from the Pazzles Craft Room. I will be watching the mail for your party invitation!! Let's get summer started!
