Breast Cancer Awareness Month

We are remembering and recognizing those who have faced Breast Cancer. The Cutting Cafe has many digi and cutting files to help you encourage those you love who are dealing with this disease. I chose to make a Pocket Letter.

Basically, you fill all the pockets of a 9 Pocket Trading Card Protector with decorated cards (or loose embellishments). You can choose to add cards to both sides or just the one. I made the backs of my cards blank so that the giver can write notes of encouragement. Or the recipient can write down memories, prayers, or feelings as they go through this journey. (Usually you write a letter, fold it up and stick it in one pocket.) Please stop over to The Cutting Cafe to see other ideas for recognizing the women who travel this journey.

I used two digi stamp sets from The Cutting Cafe to make my pocket cards:

Using Adobe Illustrator, I first made a rectangle to represent each pocket. The pockets measure 2.5 by 3.5 inches. I pulled in the digis and played with the sizes and layout. Next I separated each digi and printed. I hand cut each piece.

The next step was the fun part. I looked through my stash of goodies, I chose some embellishments that I might use. Then I played.

When you are ready to send your Pocket Letter, you simply fold the card protector in to thirds, put it in a standard 10 size envelope, and mail. (Although, I do not get how that works as the creation is bulky.)
