I love fall! The migrating birds, animals scurrying around preparing for winter, changing colors of the trees and plants, and crunchy leaves. The colors are so fun to craft with. I made a centerpiece for my Thanksgiving table. I knew exactly what I wanted. It took a while, but I played with new cutting files and fun techniques.
I was also encouraged to go forth by SVG Attic as they are hosting a Kooky Spooky Halloween Contest. Jessica said, create ANYTHING with a Halloween/Fall theme, any project you want, but you must include at least one element from SVG Attic.
I am going to list my recipe and then the pictures. Because it was such a fun project and I am really pleased with how it turned out, there are a lot of pictures.
Cut Files
Basket and "Squash" (pumpkins) are from the Fall Harvest Favor Boxes Kit from SVG Attic
Acorns are made by altering the pumpkins from the above kit.
Leaves are built in to my Pazzles software.
Banner--when I figure out where the file came from, I will edit this.
I used various patterned papers (which I do not have the names) as well as cardstock from Core'dinations. The Core paper allowed me to rough up the basket, as well as the acorns. I took my leaf colors from an oak tree on my block (see featured image above). I chalked and inked the leaves. They look very real to me! And I hope you like the buttons on the squash and the strings added to the acorns (to look like sticks). I added letters to the banner triangles and cut them out for a reverse layering (is that what you call it?). The picture shows the banner poles in little flower pots. But that is not really what I had in mind. If I keep the flower pots, I will add leaves in those as well. It was a putsy creation, but I actually enjoyed seeing it all come together. I hope that you enjoy it too!
