Welcome to my blog, and Dee's Birthday Blog Hop. If you arrived here from Scrapping Mamma you are on the right path. If you were just looking at my blog and want to join in on the Birthday blog hopping fun you can go to the beginning with our honorable hostess, Dee. Thanks to all of you for helping us to lift up Dee on her birthday.
Dee is one of the very first people that I met when I signed on to the internet craft world late lat summer. She then took me under her wing--as a crafting mentor and as a friend. As you will see, Dee favors the vintage style for her creations. This is something else I am trying to learn from Dee. It comes very naturally for her--not so for me. Dee is a classy gal. I tried hard to replicate that in the card I made for her birthday blog hop. It was a challenge for me at first. I looked at many pictures on the net as well as Dee's examples throughout her blog. I had many revisions. Part of that was simply working to get the vintage feel and partly that I am a perfectionist! I use a cut file that I created for the gloves. The hat is created via a paper craft called Iris Folding with a pattern from The Simplicity of Iris Folding. It's the finishing touches that brought it together as vintage for me. And that is what my eye picks out when I look at vintage pieces--all the little decorative but modest touches: pearls, beads, feather, fancy cuts . . . . classy, like Dee!
Happiest Birthdays to my grand friend Dee! May you be richly blessed by God, family and friends.
I am also linking this card to Getting Cricky's Simply Sundays "Vintage Appeal." I haven't played with Miss Kristal for while--it's nice to be back.
Happy Hopping to you. Your next stop along the hop is Canadian Nickel Scrap'n. The full list is at the end of this post.
